THE EDITORIAL METHOD
Technology translates.
Care gives voice.
Artificial intelligence and human oversight: the Es·Books project connects language tools with the author’s experience and the knowledge of experts.
Begin with the work.
Every translation begins with the reference text. Intention, register and recurring terms are identified, preserving the distinctive features of the writing and the author’s degree of certainty.
AI as a tool.
Artificial intelligence supports translation, comparison between versions and consistency checks. Contextual glossaries and successive revisions help identify omissions, ambiguities and unnatural wording.
Human responsibility.
The author’s oversight and the contribution of experts guide the project. Specialist language revision is credited only when it has actually been carried out and documented for that specific edition.
Fidelity and readability.
Editorial review compares meaning, completeness, terminology, voice and naturalness. A full comparison with the original precedes the final assessment of the version intended for publication.
Transparency, edition by edition.
The availability of a translation, the checks performed, human revision and editorial approval are separate pieces of information. The use of AI is not presented as human revision; a translation ready for evaluation is not automatically a published book.
